Many women find that giving birth at a birth center instead of a hospital creates a more family centered, peaceful and less intimidating environment. Birth centers combine both skilled clinical care with a homelike environment. Birth centers encourage full physical activity during labor, eating, drinking, use of tub and shower, as well as full family participation as desired. Cesarean section rates are much lower in birth centers as many studies have proven and are usually attended by midwives. Birth centers can either be freestanding or attached to a hospital. The Ventura Birth Center is freestanding and is one block away from both Ventura local hospitals.

You created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. Psalm 139:13-14, New International Version
